Self-portrait… Jess Foley

Designer, Jess Foley paints us a self-portrait…

Tell us a bit about your job.

I’m a designer, working on spreads for various publications, as well as doing some web design and infographics.

What is the biggest challenge you currently face in your role?

I’m still relatively new to the role, getting my bearings when it comes to guidelines and different approaches to the various publications. However, it also makes the role fresh and exciting as there’s always something different to be working on!

What’s the best thing about working at AB?

The variety of work and clients is exciting, especially seeing the results after the publications are printed. The team here at AB are absolutely wonderful too; always friendly, supportive and they have made me feel very welcome from the beginning. 🙂

What did you want to be when you were a kid?

An archeologist, or an astronaut…nowadays though I’d be happy just to see more of my own planet – I’ve never even been outside Europe!

Who would play you in the movie about your life?

Penelope Cruz. I wasn’t sure what to put, but she’s from Spain, and she’s cool, so why not?!

Which three celebrities would you invite to your ultimate dinner party?

Woody Harrelson, Robert Trujillo and Harold Lowe, the Welsh hero from Titanic. 🙂

Where is your favourite holiday destination and why?

I have ’t actually been yet, but one of my life goals is to visit French Polynesia. It just looks like the ultimate paradise destination.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Jason Momoa.

What’s your favourite thing you’ve seen online recently?

Does a recently acquired fixation with Google Earth count? It’s actually really fun (honestly!) – you can pretty much go anywhere, although some of the best places don’t have Street View. 🙁

What’s the most played song on your headphones (no lying)?

Led Zeppelin – When the Levee Breaks. Can’t get enough of it!
